Car write-off every 90secs

A CAR is written off every 90 seconds and its driver is most likely to be a man under 25, a study found.

More than £1billion was claimed for write-offs last year and the average claim was £9,000, said Churchill Car Insurance.

An average 384,000 cars are written off a year and men under 25 are 82% as likely to be involved than any other age group. Men account for 57% of cases.

Churchill’s Steve Barrett said: “This analysis shows the risks drivers can face.”
