Boyd is target of Rowett’s Ram raid

DERBY are trying to snap up George Boyd on a free to take advantage of his contract wrangle with Premier League Burnley.

Scotland midfielder Boyd, 31, (above) is out of contract at the Clarets this summer. He has rejected a one-year extension because he wants a longer deal.

But Championship Derby, under boss Gary Rowett, are trying to persuade him to drop into the Championship on a longer, more lucrative contract.
