Burglar used a McDonald’s bag as ‘balaclava’ disguise
A THIEF who raided a McDonald’s branch at 3am made a balaclava-style disguise by cutting holes in one of their brown paper bags.
Lee Peel, 39, was caught on CCTV after breaking through a fire door.
Prosecutor Catherine Allan said he was seen searching the restaurant’s office in Blackburn, Lancs, and trying to gain access to a cash safe. Peel admitted ROBBED Blackburn McDonald’s burglary and theft of a £500 laptop. He was made subject to a community order for 12 months with a 15-day rehabilitation activity requirement and nine months’ drugs rehabilitation. Peel, of Blackburn, was ordered by magistrates in the town to pay £540 compensation to the fast food giant. Colleen Dickinson-Jones, defending, said Peel was in an “extremely bad place” at the time of the offence.
