Troops set to leave streets

-

SOLDIERS are being stood down as the huge security operation launched after the bombing is scaled back.

Almost 1,000 troops were called in to support police effort amid fears of further attacks. But the threat level is now down from top-level “critical” to “severe”.

The Met’s Assistant Commissioner Mark Rowley said: “The extra resources are being phased out. However, military personnel will remain in readiness to support the police.”
