£666 fine for Bible burner

A HUSBAND who threw his Jehovah’s Witness wife’s Bible in a garden burner has been fined £666.

Jason Mortimore, 46, also hit Rachael with a magazine as he feared she would cancel Christmas.

He got angry when she binned festive brochures in November after returning to her original faith, Exeter magistrates court heard.

Dad-of-three Mortimore, from Exeter, admitted racially aggravated assault and criminal damage.
