QI have a roughcast gable-end home and someone has spraypainted graffiti on the wall. How can I remove the paint without damaging the roughcast? Isabella Luke, by email You can get graffiti removal gel or aerosols. However, the problem is the roughcast – due to its textured nature, it’s hard to get into all the nooks and crannies. This is where the problem lies, so agitate the remover with a scrubbing brush. If the remover doesn’t work, paint over the roughcast.
AQ AWe have a static caravan which has been splashed with decking oil. We can’t find anything to get it off. Please help! Carolyn Platt, by email If you still have the tin of oil, look at the back of it for a manufacturer’s helpline. Ask which type of solvent to use as you don’t want to use a product that will damage the paint coating of the caravan.
