Russia Putin on a good show
I’VE been in Russia over the past couple of weeks, I’ll be back there for the Confederations Cup later this month and I can tell you it has been absolutely excellent.
And having heard what President Vladimir Putin (left) and foreign minister Sergey Lavrov – who I spoke to – have had to say on the matter of hooliganism, there is no chance violent supporters from Russia or any visiting country will be allowed to ruin next summer’s World Cup.
Fans’ groups told me, “Yeah, we have our **** wits like every club and country, but we want them out,” so it is something they are working on.
And all the Russian youngsters I spoke to told me they won’t let any idiots spoil next year’s extravaganza because they have waited so long to host the tournament.
