BALHAM COMEDY FESTIVAL

Now in its sixth year, the festival has bagged some of its biggest names yet. Ed Byrne (right) ponders whether we’re all just “whiney little brats”, superstar Jason Manford brings his northern wit to the stage, and Sarah Pascoe promises a show that feels like “a year-long one-woman stag do”. Run from South London pub The Bedford, the festival sprawls over 10 days and ticket prices start at a minuscule £10 – and it’s only just over double that to see Manford.
