CURRY CAN MAKE IT HOT FOR PUMAS

-

EDDIE JONES has spiced up his line-up by making Sale flanker Tom Curry the youngest England debutant since Jonny Wilkinson.

Curry will be five days short of his 19th birthday against Argentina in San Juan on Saturday – Wilko was 18 years and 314 days old in his first Test against Ireland in 1998.

The flanker (above) is one of four uncapped starters – along with prop Harry Williams, centre Alex Lozowski and flanker Mark Wilson.

The Sale rookie has had only five starts since his Premiership debut in October, but the Red Rose boss had no problem picking him.

Jones said: “My principle has always been if a player is good enough, you play him whether old or young. Some are 18 and more mature than players at 28. There were no qualms throwing him in.”
