FLEXIBILITY IS KEY FOR BOSS
GARETH SOUTHGATE has warned England’s players they must be “adaptable” ahead of tomorrow’s clash.
The manager has used both a backthree and back-four system in training but a lack of options in midfield could tempt him to use a 3-4-2-1 formation.
Southgate believes a back three will suit his stars, with Eric Dier likely to be the only holding midfielder and Harry Kane leading the attack.
The Three Lions have a wealth of options at centrehalf with Gary Cahill, Chris Smalling and John Stones all options. But they have few alternatives in midfield, with Adam Lallana likely to start, and Raheem Sterling and Dele Alli favourites to play behind Kane.
