SOLOMONA: MY ZERO TO HERO DEBUT WAS UNREAL

- FROM ADAM HATHAWAY in San Juan

Argentina 34 England 38

DENNY SOLOMONA reckons he has seen the best and the worst of Test rugby – after just 28 minutes of England action.

The Sale wing dropped two defensive howlers after coming off the bench in England’s stunning win, then scored a lastminute winning try.

The 23-year-old was also shocked when his mother and father, Denny Sr and Georgina, jetted out to Argentina to watch his first international without telling him.

And they saw their son go from zero to hero as England snatched a famous win.

Solomona said: “It’s unreal. I think that is the best and worst debut! My old man and old lady came down – they surprised me, I didn’t know they were coming.

“In Test matches you make mistakes and it is up to you whether to go forward or dwell on it. I chose not to and tried to do the best I could for the team.”

Solomona (below) is sweating on his place for Saturday’s second Test – and boss Eddie Jones said: “We will be shopping for a tackle bag next week.

“I think he was so nervous. You watch him and he misses the tackle, he gets up and he stumbles again. The big occasion got to him. But he bounced back.”

England have flown to Buenos Aires ahead of the second Test in Santa Fe. Argentina: Tries: Boffelli, Lavanini, De la Fuente, Tuculet; Cons: Sanchez (4); Pen: Sanchez; Drop: Hernandez England: Tries: Yarde, May, Ford, Solomona; Cons: Ford (3); Pens: Ford (4)
