LOZOWSKI: NEXT ENGLAND CAP MAKES ME THE DADDY

- FROM ADAM HATHAWAY in Buenos Aries

ENGLAND centre Alex Lozowksi has been bagging his dad for years for being a one-cap wonder – but he could really get stuck into his old man on Saturday.

Lozowski’s father Rob won one England cap in 1984 and never pulled the jersey on again – leading to a pile of stick from his boy.

Lozowski Jnr is set to win his second cap on Saturday against Argentina in Santa Fe after making his debut in the crazy 38-34 weekend win over the Pumas.

But the 23-year-old is praying he has not been jinxed by his mum Lisa who is on this tour with her husband. Lozowski (left) said: “I always used to give him grief. Obviously I am hugely proud of him and would always boast to my mates that he’d played for England but I’d say, ‘You only got one cap!’

“And he would say: ‘That’s one more than you!’ So I have managed to equal him. On Saturday my mum took a photo of us two and said: ‘This is the one-cap club’. I said: ‘Please don’t jinx me like that,’ I just want to get more than one.”

Lozowski plays at Sarries with Owen Farrell and reckons he owes his rise in the Test ranks to chinwags with the star.

He added: “He is the standard bearer in the world at the moment. His knowledge is phenomenal – being able to work with him every day is something I am very fortunate to have.”
