Lad, 5: I don’t want to die

-

LOST Isaac with his mum Genet DESPERATE mother Genet Shawo was separated from her five-year-old son Isaac as they fled in pitch-black smoke.

The last thing he said to his mum was: “I don’t want us to die”.

Genet left Isaac with a neighbour, who was covering the youngster with a wet towel. She has not seen him since stepping into the smoke-filled corridor outside their 18th-floor flat. Genet said: “I realised Isaac wasn’t there. My neighbour said he lost hold of him inside and couldn’t find him.

“It was so dark, you couldn’t see anything. I am still hoping and praying for him. He is a beautiful boy.”

Taxi-driver husband Paulos Petakle and other son Luca, three, escaped.
