8am Doors open at 179th Cumberland County Show at East Park, Carlisle, Cumbria’s largest agricultural show.

10am The 1st Battalion Irish Guards troop their Colour in the presence of Her Majesty the Queen to mark her official

birthday. At 1pm the Queen takes her at a fly-past of the RAF from the balcony at Buckingham Palace.

10.30am Announcement of the Queen’s birthday Honours list to mark Her Majesty’s official birthday.

5pm Doors open at Wembley Stadium for a concert by Manchester rock legends The Stone Roses.

8.15pm The second rugby union test between England and Argentina is broadcast on BBC2.
