Appleton’s Foxes No.2
LEICESTER have confirmed Michael Appleton as their new assistant manager.
Appleton has left his manager’s role at Oxford United to become Craig Shakespeare’s No.2.
The 41-year-old is set to double his wages to nearly £500,000 after switching to the 2015-2016 Premier League champions.
Shakespeare, who worked with Appleton at West Brom, said: “I am delighted that the club have been able to bring in a coach of Michael’s standing.
“We worked together at West Bromwich Albion and it quickly became clear that Michael possessed all the qualities and the integrity required to enjoy a successful coaching career.
Appleton said: “The opportunity to move to a Premier League club was something that I felt I just couldn’t turn down.”
