PEACE FOR CHARLIE

I can’t pretend to know what the parents of terminally ill Charlie Gard are going through after losing their final appeal (Mirror, June 28). However, they can take some solace from knowing they were loving parents and did everything possible to support their son.

Great Ormond Street is in the business of saving lives, not ending them unless there is no other realistic option.

When Charlie does finally slip away he will be at peace. I hope in time his parents will be able to come to terms with this. Diane Silva Lytham, Lancs
