BBC NABS LIVE CRICKET

- BY DEAN WILSON

ENGLAND’S best cricketers have been told they should be cheerful about the latest £1.1bn broadcasting rights deal.

The players can expect to cash in as a result of the five-year deal which brings live cricket back to the BBC for the first time in 21 years (from 2020).

Most cricket will remain on Sky Sports on a dedicated channel, with live Test and one-day cricket continuing as it is now, but two England T20 matches will be on the BBC each year.

There will also be 10 live games from the new T20 competition that will be shown at prime time, most likely on BBC Two.

ECB Chief Executive Tom Harrison (left) said: “I think players have a reason to be cheerful about this deal.”
