BLUES CLOSE ON BELOTTI

- EXCLUSIVE BY DARREN LEWIS

CHELSEA will move for Torino marksman Andrea Belotti, after Manchester United hijacked their move for Romelu Lukaku. The Premier League champions will have to pay around £90million for the 23-year-old, who netted 32 times for club and country last season. Since news of an outline agreement between United and Everton emerged, Chelsea have been trying in vain to contact 24-year-old Lukaku to get him to change his mind.

Blues boss Antonio Conte is said to be fuming over the deal. Especially as Lukaku is understood to have been made aware of the way in which the Italian intended to use him as a Chelsea player next season.

The Blues have other striking targets – Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez and Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata.

They are also set to announce deals for midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko and defender Antonio Rudiger. But they will do little to ease the blow of losing Lukaku.
