Cable: Brexit may never happen
BREXIT may never happen, veteran Liberal Democrat Sir Vince Cable declared yesterday.
The leadership contender said party divisions and the tough terms demanded by the EU might mean Brexit was “just too difficult.”
Sir Vince said if the economy suffered, then public opinion on leaving could shift and “the whole question of continued membership will once again arise”.
He told the BBC: “I’m beginning to think that Brexit may never happen. The problems are so enormous, the divisions within the two main parties are so enormous, I can see a scenario in which this doesn’t happen.”
