Sian: I can’t tell you whodunit!

-

EVERYONE loved her in Car Share and now Sian Gibson is going to be a movie star (kinda).

This time the action is in a coach instead of a car, in the feature-length Murder On The Blackpool Express.

Peter Kay’s sidekick in the BBC comedy will play tour guide Gemma in the special, a comedy update of Agatha Christie’s classic whodunit.

Benidorm star Johnny Vegas takes the lead role of coach driver Terry, caught up in a deadly conspiracy when the trip’s passengers start mysteriously dying one by one.

And the rest of the cast is 24-carat quality including Nigel Havers (Little Britain), Una Stubbs (Sherlock), Griff Rhys Jones (Not the Nine O’Clock News) and Nina Wadia (Goodness Gracious Me).

With everyone a suspect and a potential next victim, can Terry and Gemma keep the group together, address their growing attraction for each other, fend off the police and make it to Blackpool Tower with their lives intact?

Sian, 40, says: “I’m so excited to be involved in a murder mystery. The script is very funny and it’s a pleasure to be working with Johnny and a wonderful cast. Can’t wait!”

Johnny, 46, adds: “If the script read-through is anything to go by, this is not only going to be immense fun to film but a treat for comedy lovers and whodunits alike.”

OK, it’s not the Car Share Christmas special we were hoping for but it sounds like a decent consolation. The twohour film, being made for the Gold channel, will air in the autumn.
