EVERYTHING suddenly got a bit more dark and dangerous last week, and this series has now reached nail-biting levels of tension.
For a start, human rights lawyer Emma Banville (the wonderful Helen McCrory) decided to go to America to seek out Linda’s US Air Force boyfriend Logan. She was making fairly good progress before being arrested and unceremoniously thrown into a cell.
Turns out the military don’t like nosy British lawyers sniffing around when there’s a high-level conspiracy to cover up. But tonight the US Air Force allows Emma to have a sneaky fiveminute chat with Logan in the dead of night, and it’s all very revealing.
Apart from confirming he was in a relationship with Linda, he also reveals he was sent away from the air base immediately after her death, and there’s some important information on how they met.
Emma is now holding on to some crucial evidence. She’ll just need to get herself back to Britain so that she can carry on playing Sherlock.
Meanwhile, Kevin (who stepped in front of a van in frankly stomachchurning scenes last week) is fighting for his life in hospital.
Whether he will pull through or not provides a sickening backdrop to this entire episode.
And in other news, Dominic meets Miriam in prison to tell her that Emma is no longer representing Yusef, and Matthew Wild rallies support as he prepares to win the leadership election.
This drama is dropping us more and more clues like breadcrumbs. It’s within grasp, but we’ll have to wait until next week for what will hopefully be a grand finale.
