ABANDONING a ministerial red box to flee questions about the indefensible Tory 1% pay cap was a cowardly reaction by Education Secretary Justine Greening.

This panicking Cabinet Minister was unable to justify her cut in the living standards of 500,000 educators in England and Wales.

Ms Greening’s failure to face the consequences of Conservative austerity is an inadvertent admission that Theresa May’s crumbling Conservative regime is in danger of toppling over at any moment.

The embarrassed Minister’s discarded red box is a symbol of the Tory growing chaos.
