WHO says bunking off school doesn’t pay?

British junior Aidan McHugh, 17, has been training with Andy Murray on the practice courts. He explained: “I know Andy because we’re Scottish and he says hello. I’ve watched him train loads since I was young, in Davis Cups and things like that.

“I would sneak in to watch practice, missing school and stuff. I’ve got to know him better this tournament and spent quite a bit of time with him.” The Glaswegian (above), who is into the last 16 here, added: “He’s great for advice and very funny – a lot of people don’t realise that.”

Proof comes in the regular mickey-taking McHugh receives from Murray and his camp.

His coach got involved, too. After McHugh had sunburn last week, he said: “My coach got me after-sun for my birthday – which was nice. Andy thought that was funny.”
