Lame duck PM should limp off

- Chris Torode, Catterick, North Yorks

Theresa May has now gone from bully to beggar. She called an election thinking she would get a landslide majority so she could force her policies through Parliament, but has found out the British public are not as gullible as she thought.

It is obvious that even with the £1billion incentive given to the DUP, this is not going to work.

If May was the chief executive of a major company she would have been shown the door by now. It is time she realises she is not fit for purpose and stands down.

She is now even asking opposition parties to help her out, but even many in her own party don’t want to help her, so how can she expect anyone else to do so?

Frederick Morris, Pontefract, West Yorkshire

# How can Theresa May have the brass neck to relaunch the “nasty party” on a platform of “fairness”? This from a Prime Minister who, had she had a majority, would have stolen people’s assets, removed the triple lock on pensions, rationed winter fuel payments and increased student fees. She did a grubby deal with the DUP to stay in power and has generally ridden rough shod over the electorate. Get rid of her now.

# If it wasn’t so serious, it would be a comedy series – a lame duck prime minister who has run out of ideas and is now asking the opposition for help.

After years of austerity and the destruction of the NHS, the rise of food banks and so much public distrust of the way this disgusting Government has misused the country’s finances, they are now asking for help. The game is over, Theresa – Jeremy, prepare for government!

Reg Barrett, Southminster, Essex

# It’s a bit rich of Theresa May to ask other parties to assist her in running the country after she condemned the policies outlined in their manifestos. If I were them, I know what I would tell her to do.

After seven years of austerity, what do we have to show for it? A national debt of £1.7trillion, way above what the Tories inherited.

So, instead of asking the other parties for help, why don’t you just quit right now, Mrs May?

Harold Ennis, Ruardean, Glos

# Two Budgets before he left office, George Osborne sent an email to benefits staff asking where he could make more cuts. I doubt he saw most of the replies as we had a great time sending him suggestions!

What Tory arrogance – thinking staff who had not had a pay rise for five years were going to help him victimise people even further. They never learn.

# Give public sector workers the wages they deserve and stop spending money on silly schemes. Best of all, Mrs May, if you really care about the country, resign and call an immediate election.

Dave Mellor, Warrington, Cheshire

# So, the Tories want to be seen as the caring party.

Really? What about the £1billion given to the DUP to keep the PM in her job and the 1% pay cap for public sector workers?

Sorry, Mrs May, it’s time to call another election.
