Poor standards

-

AUSTERITY is dangerous when local trading standards bodies starved of funds are struggling to enforce product recalls.

It sounds alarm bells when campaigning consumer group Which? warns that dodgy electrical appliances pose a risk because companies are allowed to be slow when it comes to getting them out of our homes.

Slashing and cutting public bodies is bad for our safety, yet companies should be prioritising the recall of faulty machines.

Saving lives must be the goal and laggards deserve to be fined heavily and stung with compensation claims.
