Joy for baby left in cinema loo 61yrs ago

- BY FINDLAY MAIR

A MAN who was abandoned in a cinema toilet as a baby 61 years ago has finally met the brothers he never knew he had.

Rob Weston went for adoption after his mother left him in the ladies of the Birmingham picturehouse.

The university lecturer found brother Tommy Chalmers, 58, of Moray, Scotland, after checking a national DNA database.

He then discovered another brother, Larry Aston, and half-brother Bryn Jones in Wales.

Rob, of Plymouth, has tracked down a birth certificate with his real name – Paul Aston. Mum Betty died in 1961. He said: “It’s been mind-boggling.

“The certificate revealed I’m nine days younger than I thought it was. At least it went in the right direction.”
