BBC1, 7.30pm Jodi Bickley started writing letters when she was just five years old.

Ever since, Jodi, from Birmingham, has written letters and notes to strangers, leaving them on buses, in coffee shops or in shopping centres for people to find.

But a string of medical problems, including encephalitis, ME, depression and anxiety, led to Jodi having suicidal thoughts.

Jodi, 28, says: “I didn’t want to be here. So I counted all my tablets out and started preparing to kill myself.”

Fortunately, an app pinged a cheerful message that made her laugh, and Jodi had the epiphany that she could do the same for others.

She set up her website, One Million Lovely Letters, in 2013 to help those in need. Anyone can request a letter via email – she’s written 4,000 since then and has 8,000 requests in her inbox.

But as she tells Aled Jones in this inspiring film, she won’t stop until she’s written a million. LOVES LETTERS Jodi Bickley
