SWANS GET IN FLAP ON WAY HOME
SWANSEA were hit by a travel nightmare returning from their pre-season tour of the USA.
Paul Clement’s side drew with Philadelphia Union and North Carolina, and beat Richmond Kickers 2-1.
But their British Airways flight back to London on Sunday was cancelled while midfielder Leroy Fer managed to lose his passport as Clement’s men were left in a panic.
“The gaffer gave us a bit of time off after the final game to let our hair down a little after a tough 10 days,” said Swans captain Leon Britton (above).
“The good mood was short-lived though. The club had to charter a plane to fly everyone from North Carolina to New York first – and Leroy left his passport on the charter flight.”
