Hols isle bans 10,000 Brits
THE holiday party resort of Malia has turned away 10,000 Britons in a bid to shed its debauched image.
The crackdown comes as the Crete town, with its sleazy UK parties and 17-bar pub crawls, hopes to remodel itself as a safe and friendly holiday spot for other nationalities.
Deputy mayor Efthymios Moutrakis said: “Malia isn’t about sex, drugs and everything goes.
“It’s the prime destination in Crete, bringing in millions of euros.”
