I can really identify with the letter from the young guy who feels he’s getting nowhere trying to carve out a career (Dear Coleen, June 2).

The important thing is not to give up. I’m a lot older than him and I’ve had no replies to emails, and received negative comments when applying for an apprenticeship or college course.

But I’ve had poems published and I have music lessons every week.
