Manchester United to sign PSG star convicted of assaulting a policeman ..if he wins appeal
MANCHESTER UNITED will spend £27million on a defender – if he is allowed in the country.
Jose Mourinho (right) has agreed a deal for Paris Saint-Germain right-back Serge Aurier, who currently is banned from the UK.
He was found guilty of assaulting a police officer outside a Paris nightclub last September.
The Ivory Coast star was
stopped from entering the UK in October, missing a Champions League game with Arsenal, when border authorities revoked his visa.
The 24-year-old’s appeal against his conviction is due to be heard by a French court next week and United will ask the government to clarify his position before completing the £90,000-aweek deal.
PSG have told Aurier he can go after they signed Dani Alves as first-choice right-back. They are desperate to raise funds to cover a move for Neymar.
Aurier was banned by PSG last year for comments about then-boss Laurent Blanc and team-mates. The season before, he missed three Champions League games when suspended by UEFA for calling a referee a “dirty son of a bitch” when he sent off Zlatan Ibrahimovic during a 2-2 draw with Chelsea.
