SILENT RIGHT
Recordings of the late Diana, Princess of Wales discussing her marriage with a voice coach will be aired on Channel 4 this weekend. The recordings were never intended to be public so it is a breach of trust and decency, according to the predictable outcry. But identical objections could have been raised when Mark Logue found a cache of Royal correspondence in his late grandfather’s attic. Lionel Logue was a voice coach and worked with George VI. Mark told the story he unearthed in a book that became the film, The King’s Speech. Royal privacy is, perhaps, about timing not morality.
