10am Events continue at the Edinburgh International Festival. More than 21,000 performers are taking part in around 2,500 shows across the city until August 28.

10am Mayor of London Sadiq Khan takes part in a monthly radio phone-in show on LBC.

7.20pm Final of the javelin throw on the fifth day of the IAAF World Athletics Championships at London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Other highlights include the 800m final at 9.35pm.

9pm Drama Trust Me begins on BBC1, with new Doctor Who Jodie Whittaker playing a nurse pretending to be a doctor.
