Jade, 11, has to sleep for 20 hrs a day

- BY SHANTI DAS

A GIRL of 11 has been named “the real-life Sleeping Beauty” – because of a neurological disorder that makes her snooze for up to 20 hours a day.

Jade Frazier is thought to have incurable Kleine-Levin syndrome, which leaves her needing four daily naps.

Without them she throws tantrums and slips into an incoherent state, and she has black circles constantly round her eyes.

Mum Dee, 36, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky, US, said: “Sleeping Beauty is one of her favourites – but it’s not a fairytale. She fell asleep at the waterpark once.”

The cause of the condition is unknown. Some sufferers have been known to spend months in deep sleep, waking only to go to the bathroom or to eat.
