1.30pm Chris Packham and Peter Egan join a protest against hunting and culling, in Cavendish Square in Central London.

1.15pm The Blackpool Airshow begins with planes flying over the beach. The Red Arrows take part at 4pm. 7.30pm The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo continues with 1,000 performers coming together. 8pm The annual Perseids meteor shower is expected to peak from this time onwards. Stargazers are advised that they will have the best chance of seeing a meteor in the late evening or early hours of the morning.
