DOYLE’S A SILVER STAR IN RELAYS GLORY
BRITISH captain Eilidh Doyle brought home a silver medal as the host nation finished with a flourish.
Doyle ran a superb third leg to ensure a magnificent second place behind USA in the women’s 4 x 400m – the seventh straight world championships at which they have medalled.
Not to be outdone the men’s 4 x 4 quartet then brought the curtain down on the event with bronze behind Trinidad and Tobago as Britain finished with FOUR relay medals.
They end in sixth spot in the medal table with two golds, three silvers and a bronze – a decent return as they only had one medal a week into the champs.
Robbie Grabarz fell short in his bid to repeat the bronze he won at the 2012 Olympics, taking sixth in the high jump.
