Gao wants his Saints to soar
SOUTHAMPTON hope to climb to the next level after tycoon Jisheng Gao completed a £210million takeover.
The Gao family, from China, yesterday ended almost a year of talks by becoming the new majority owners with an 80 per cent stake.
Gao said: “We look forward to an exciting next chapter for the club.”
Katharina Liebherr will continue to have a say in the Saints’ running and owns the remaining 20 per cent.
The day-to-day running will not change, with chairman Ralph Krueger and vice-chairman Les Reed staying.
