Great that Rio’s found romance
It’s fantastic that Rio Ferdinand is still wearing his wedding ring – and great that he’s moved on with a new love.
There’s nothing worse than seeing someone you love in the grip of grief. Who’s to say how soon is too soon after bereavement to find love? After my sister Linda lost her husband, if she’d met someone a week later who made her smile, I’d have said, “Good”.
I hope it’s not hard on Kate Wright. She’s not the other woman – if Rio’s wife Rebecca was still alive they’d still be together.
If I were Kate, I’d ask Rio to keep his ring on and encourage him to have pictures of Rebecca all over his house.
Linda only recently found love again 10 years after losing her husband. But he’d be the first to see her happy again.
