Coma teen’s wake-up call about her car

- BY JEREMY ARMSTRONG

A TEEN who suffered a fractured skull, brain bleed and broken neck and pelvis in a crash woke from a coma to ask doctors: “How much to repair the car?”

Sarah Dent, 18, was devastated to learn her 2004 Renault Clio had been written off when she skidded over the road and hit an oncoming vehicle.

She was airlifted to hospital after the crash on May 15 and spent six days in an induced coma.

Sarah, of Middleton-inTeesdale, Co Durham, has made an incredible recovery, and returned to thank her rescuers at the Great North Air Ambulance Service.

She said: “I could not be more grateful for the help of the medics and air ambulance. If it was not for them I would not be here.”
