The Queen will open the new £1.35billion road crossing over the Firth of Forth near Edinburgh on Monday – and if she’s after a convenient bed for the night, then she’s in luck.

DoubleTree by Hilton’s property in North Queensferry has just reopened after a £15million makeover which includes a newly designed Shore Grill & Fish House restaurant and 64 new rooms to make a total of 141, with the existing ones all renovated.

The property offers free wi-fi throughout, and if Her Maj fancies a snifter after the bridge opening, the Forth Bar offers a range of cocktails or a wee dram.

Room rates start at £74 a night. doubletreebyhilton.com
