WEBSITE OF THE WEEK
Changing Faces began its work in 1992 to help people who have a disfigurement.
The campaigning organisation wants them to be able to live their life without the anxiety or fear of being ignored, physically or verbally abused, harassed, restricted, rejected or ejected.
It also aims to transform public attitudes towards people with an unusual appearance. Its goal is ‘face equality’ and it promotes fair treatment and equal opportunities for all, irrespective of how they look.
Changing Faces campaigns for social change – lobbying for integrated health services.
It aims to influence schools and workplaces to create more inclusive environments for people with disfigurements.
And it pushes for anti-discrimination protection and enforcement.
