These stories about gender issues
in schools take me back to the 1970s when I was told to get my hair cut because I “looked like a girl”.
If only we’d had the terms available today I could have replied: “Why aren’t you asking if I’m identifying as non-binary because, for all you know, I may be gender-fluid.” Although had I said that, I would not have been able to type the words on this, or any other, page as my hands would have been so severely beaten by a Christian Brother they’d have needed amputation.
A Christian Brother, by the way, dressed in a frock. Ah yes, the good old, non-confusing days.
