HAMMERS BAD BOY MAKES HIS MARKO
MARKO ARNAUTOVIC stole the show for West Ham on his home debut as he helped the Hammers ease into round four.
The £24million club record signing had a major point to prove following his mindless sending-off against Southampton almost a month ago. And he did his best to make up for it with a superb display against Bolton.
Arnautovic helped set up both goals for Angelo Ogbonna and Diafra Sakho in the first half and should have got on the scoresheet himself when he was clean through but lofted over.
And Arthur Masuaku completed an impressive victory with a superb finish into the roof of the net in stoppage time.
Bolton, who are rooted to the foot of the Championship, saw their nightmare start continue as they suffered their seventh defeat of the season and never looked like causing an upset in east London.
The Hammers got off to the perfect start when they opened the scoring after just four minutes.
Arnautovic showed his quality when he curled a free-kick straight into the path of Ogbonna who directed a closerange header past Trotters keeper Mark Howard.
The Irons doubled their lead on 31 minutes and it was that man Arnautovic who was once again at the heart of the action.
The Austria forward raced away down the left-hand side and cut the ball back for Sakho (celebrating with Arnautovic, above), who fired the ball into the corner of the net.
Masuaku scored right at the death when he fired an unstoppable left-foot shot from the edge of the area which sailed past Howard into the roof of the net.
