We need end of the peers show
#These lords are nothing more than leeches on this country. How are these overpaid fat cats able to get away with getting so much money for doing no work whatsoever?
The Lords are being paid for merely holding the title. I think £1.2million in expenses is an absolute outrage. They sit around in their fancy red robes and do nothing, yet they are getting money off hardworking taxpayers to fund their extravagant lifestyles. Something needs to be done so they are no longer allowed to claim such huge expenses and are held accountable.

#Millions of pounds of taxpayers’ money is paid to an archaic system that is basically a millionaires’ rest home with subsidised food and drink. Many other perks are given to these nonentities who are rewarded by being highly paid for seemingly little or no participation. Meanwhile, the rest of us struggle with austerity. It’s high time this medieval practice of dressing up and pompous parading is brought into the 21st century.

#What other job is there where you get paid £300 per day for doing absolutely nothing? It is scandalous and outrageous. The Lords should have been overhauled a long time ago – they’ll only turn out in force to vote against Brexit.

#Why are the Lords there in the first place? Sitting around doing nothing, while people are struggling to find their next meal. Sounds like something out of Victorian times.
Get rid of this lot and maybe there will be money to cover the expenses of people’s healthcare and children’s education.

#Why aren’t these pampered peers paid after they make a certain number of spoken contributions and have voted in the majority of votes that the Lords are given? Surely they should have to open their mouths and speak, and vote too?

#It infuriates me to see these unelected hasbeens still being able to vote in the Lords. And they pick up £300 a day just for signing in. It wouldn’t surprise me if they even have taxis running outside while they nip in to do so!

#These Lords have enough money without claiming expenses for doing absolutely nothing. Their greed is costing this country millions of pounds when we can’t afford to pay our nurses and teachers a decent wage.
