Turkish Airlines has reportedly begun talks with Airbus to buy up to 40 A350 jet liners for more than £9billion.

It came hours after striking a similar deal with Airbus’s arch rival Boeing, worth £8bn.

Airbus has British plants in Filton, near Bristol, and Broughton in North Wales.
