Pledge to change or­gan donor law

SUP­PORT Mir­ror ed­i­tor Peter Wil­lis chats with Jeremy Cor­byn at the Brighton bash AN opt-out sys­tem for or­gan do­na­tion will be in­tro­duced if Labour is elected.

The change comes after the Daily Mir­ror’s two-year cam­paign.

Mr Cor­byn told del­e­gates he de­cided to in­tro­duce the pol­icy after be­ing “deeply moved by the Daily Mir­ror’s KARAOKE Ash­worth and Rayner with Mir­ror ed­i­tor-in-chief Lloyd Em­b­ley, left cam­paign to change the or­gan do­na­tion law.” The switch will as­sume con­sent for do­na­tion un­less peo­ple opt out.

Mr Cor­byn’s pledge will pile pres­sure on Theresa May, who said ear­lier this year she’s “con­sid­er­ing” a law change but has since been si­lent on the is­sue.
