Cash ‘won’t end butcher surgeon hell’
A PATIENT operated on needlessly by surgeon Ian Paterson says her ordeal will continue despite a compensation settlement.
The “butcher” medic told Marie Bailey, 43, she could have a rare cancer when she only had eczema.
A High Court judge approved a £37million payout plan for hundreds of his victims this week.
But Marie, of Tamworth, Staffs, said: “I am hoping it will bring all of this to a conclusion, but I don’t think I will ever fully get over what he did to us.”
The mum of one was referred to him in 2007 over a patch on her chest.
Paterson, of Altrincham, Gtr Manchester, did unnecessary breast operations in NHS and private hospitals. His jail term was last month raised to 20 years.
