Top scorer Hemed was handed a three-game ban after cameras spotted him stamping on Newcastle’s DeAndre Yedlin. Manager Hughton – already without injured hitmen Glen Murray and Sam Baldock – said: “We appealed because we genuinely felt there was no intent on Hemed’s behalf.”
Other players received similar bans for far worse challenges, including Miguel Britos’ horrendous tackle on Albion’s Anthony Knockaert at Watford.
Angry Hughton added: “It certainly does not seem right.” NEIL HARRIS believes his Millwall players have shown they are good enough for the Championship.
A four-match unbeaten run has lifted the Lions out of trouble and raised spirits at The Den.
