WILL KANE BE WORLD CLASS? HE ALREADY IS

Keeper Hart on the brilliance of his England pal Harry

HARRY KANE has an unshakeable belief that he can become the best striker in the world.

It must be World Cup year if the expectation levels are rising, but Kane is in the sort of form to make him one of the best No.9s in Russia next summer.

The 24-year-old Tottenham star has scored 11 goals in his last six games and no matter England’s other failings they have a striker in world-class form.

Kane put two past Joe Hart when Tottenham won at West Ham last month and the England keeper has played with and against some of the best strikers in the business.

Sergio Aguero and Wayne Rooney have been team-mates. Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi among his opponents.

And Hart has no doubt that Kane can live up to his dream of being the best in the world when Ronaldo and Messi retire. Hart said: “I didn’t know he said that and I don’t need to hear that. I see it in Harry. I see how he behaves.

“He is hot, isn’t he? He is scoring just as many goals as the people we have related to as world class and he has been doing it for many seasons.

“Harry gets put in that bracket and deserves to be.

“Mauricio Pochettino, (right) one of the hottest managers in the world, regards him highly and there are reasons for that.

“Harry will keep being Harry and he will keep scoring goals. As long as he is in my team, wearing an England badge, I want that to continue.

“You just know he is a good player. You know you will get a hard shot with Harry. If you give him half an inch he will get a strike on goal and make you work.

“There is no real secret to him and that is the brilliance of Harry. It is not dazzling skills, Harry is just brilliant at what he does and is one of the best out there.

“He keeps scoring goals and you cannot ask for any more than that. Long may it continue in an England shirt.”

Hart admits that trying to stop Kane is getting tougher for Premier League defences. The West Ham keeper reveals that his England team-mate is always looking to shoot early and aims for the corner, which just makes him even tougher to cope with. “You have got to play the percentages and rely on some brilliance from yourself if you are going to save something in the corner,” Hart added.

Kane has not scored in the Premier League in August for the past three seasons.

But as soon as the page of the calendar is turned at the end of the month, he is up and running. It could be worrying to think Kane may have used up all his goal power by the World Cup, but Hart remains convinced that England are a constant threat with him leading the line.

He added: “The season is crazy. He knows what will happen. We can only live in the moment. Right now, Harry is hot.

“I remember some of the rubbish coming his way when he did not score in August, but I still regarded Harry as the one you saw at the end of September with the same frightening number of goals.

“Whether he keeps his form, scores 40 goals or ends up with 20, he is still a top player and we’re lucky to have him.

“It is great having Harry, but we are pleased with every squad member.

“We have some top, top players. So regarding the question of lining up behind the team, it feels good and I feel we can do something. It is down to us to do it.”
