PENSION AGE SO UNFAIR

- Sue Bruce, Harlow, Essex

# I left school at 16 and paid tax and National Insurance for 47 years. When I started work, my retirement age was 60 and I was looking forward to spending time with my family and taking life a little easier while I still could. I planned to help out with my grandchildren so my daughter could go back to work full-time. Unfortunately, this has not come to fruition and I’m now forced to work until I’m 66.

These changes were implemented without warning, impacting my age group the worst. A petition against the increase in the pension age has reached over 70,000 signatures. I feel that the Government should now reconsider its stance on this issue.
